Do you remember having one of those?
Do you know where it is, or what’s inside?
Let me explain, so I make myself clear.
It all starts when your period is late. You take a test and find out: you’re going to be a mom.
There’s hardly anything more thrilling in life than that moment—correct me if I’m wrong.
The months pass. You grow. You prepare. You wait.
And suddenly, nothing else matters except meeting your baby.
That’s normal.
Then the baby comes. And with them, feelings you didn’t know were even possible.
Your whole world shifts into caring for this tiny soul,
who finds comfort and safety right on your chest.
That’s normal too.
But time flies, faster than you ever imagined.
And one day, you remember her - the woman who used to wake up, get dressed in real clothes, maybe swipe on some lipstick, and head into the world.
You start to wonder:
What happened to her?
Is she still there?
Are you still the sharp, smart woman who once moved mountains - or did you lose her, somewhere in the lullabies and late-night feeds? And then come the thoughts. The self-doubt.
The quiet belief that you can never be her again.
And that, my dear, creates mountains of frustration.
If this is you—this is your sign.
It’s time to find that quiet box of brilliance. Or that dusty briefcase.
Call it whatever you want.
But don’t let another day go by without opening it.
Look inside.
Remember who you were.
Reconnect with her.
Reclaim her.
Now, I’m not saying going back to work is going to be easy.
We both know it won’t be.
It will feel like starting all over again. It is in fact a new beginning.
